That is one thing about stress and emotions, they do tend to create some nice art at times! Really beautiful and wispy piece here with a nice ethereal feel! Wonderful use of colors all around and a very well balanced composition in whole! Most excellent as always!
-- <<-+-<[MythArcana]>-+->> what an awesome peice, you get this immediate sense of a raw explosion of power enhanced by the helpnessness of the man floating in space attached by nothing but his safety line to the ship. i love how the viewer can be almost like a fourth planet as a spectator in this massive act...also i like how you include the stars off into the back, it makes you feel that although this seems like a huge event taking place, it is nothing compared to the expanse of the universe and that a million miles away, the stars will still shine and no one will care. makes the ship and astronaut seem very insignificant, good job
-- ~the problem with life is that you live it going forwards but only learn from it looking backwards i agree with what the others said above, i have just one tiny point of critique, and that is that the head of the snake/dragon seems very flat. then again i guess it's hard to put some sort of shading onto it since it's glowing from the inside...
nevertheless cool idea! -- Get ENSO 1.0! It helps you to be faster. Mmh yea , good point. Ill try to work with more feeling of space next time I do something similar
-- A nice place far above the clouds ... [link] |

I adore the soft clouds and they work so well to frame the piece while at the same time giving the eye something to glance over, so we are not left with just darkness. I think that the city on the planet was a necessary addition (again it just adds to the image) and the ship is also another wonderful little detail that just gives you a sense of how epic this serpentine creature is.
I think that the design of the creature itself is made better by how simple it is. It is straight to the point without any unnecessary detailing on it, which at this point might detract from the overall image.
Overall I think this is a great piece, full of expression and fairly free strokes while at the same time having a technical rigidity that makes the whole thing a great balance of freedom and discipline.
